McGill University, Canada

McGill University in Montreal, Canada is said to be the “Harvard” of Canada and I had the great privilege to do several talks there in October 2010 including one for the Sociology Department, another in Education and yet another organized by the student organization Quebec Public Interest Research Group (QPIRG).  QPIRG organizes, Cultural Shock, an annual event series dedicated to exploring the myths surrounding immigrants, refugees, indigenous people and communities of colour, and is co-organized by QPIRG at McGill and the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU). Culture Shock seeks to bring together members of these communities to engage in dialogue about issues relevant to their lives, as well as to educate non-members around some of the issues faced by communities ofcolour in Canada. Seehttp://ssmu.mcgill.ca/blog/2010/10/culture-shock/

I also did a talk in the community with the Immigrant Workers Center.
