Middlebury College

The fundamental goal in organizing the symposium (along with other presentations by a journalist and an artist) was to have passionate thinkers on immigration come to campus and share their work with students. The students chose speakers, according to its lead organizer “based on their work (trying to get a diversity of perspectives) as well as their enthusiasm for the subject and ability to deliver a captivating lecture.”

I stayed in the lovely Swift House Inn.

I had a lovely time with colleagues from the Sociology and Anthropology Department while I was there. We had some pretty fabulous meals. I think almost everything I ate during my short stay included Vermont cheddar cheese.
